Been there, done this (reply)
Hey, don't turn it down. I had a similar situation. What I did was go to the bank, talk to the person on the platform. I opened a second, dummy, checking
account. I did not order checks for it. I had the person (in France, for me), send the funds to ...
Bank Info (reply)
Well, I'd be worried about the fees too which you should find out by calling your bank. As for the information, what do they need? The name on your
account and the account number? If I write you (and hundreds of other people a year) a check, you have ...
Re: International Bank Transfer Payments (reply)
From what I understand this is fairly common over in Europe -
That being said - I agree with Krickets - find another way. I had one order once and when I told them I would not send bank information I never heard from
them again.
But I have also had a ...
Self publishing (reply)
You may want to look further. The quote is probably for a digitized book that they print directly from a disc, no editing etc. Some places also retain
copyrights for a period of time.

RED FLAG (reply)
I would keep away from anything that makes them need your account information. Tell them to pay by PayPal. Its a lot of money and not worth taking a chance.
I had someone ask for this and I just dismissed it out of hand.

International Bank Transfer Payments (topic)
I need some advice on international bank transfers....
I have a customer in Germany insisting on paying via this method (it's a $500 book order, not huge, but a decent sum). I'm a little leery of giving out
bank information to a complete stranger ( ...

Re: USPS Shipping Assistant labels not accepted (reply)
The clerks at my local sub-station have been very understanding, they say they are only following orders so I don't think I will have a problem with them.
I'm going to try a Priority Mail parcel this AM so no worries there....

I would suggest you NOT seal your packages until after arriving at the PS for awhile.

RESOLUTION.
Got a call today from the Consumers Affairs national rep and she advised that the local office has been advised to amend their policies to conform with the
regulations. Apparently they spoke to the local Business Mail Specialist that was ...
Re: Order Drought (reply)
We have some odd experiences with order flow.
We can have a very poor week, where we feel as though Alibris has ceased to love us and may in fact be carrying out a vendetta of some kind against us.
Followed then by a rush of orders, where we feel the ...
Slow Sales (reply)
Sales seem to have dropped off the last ten days of October. They have started to pick up last week, with what I assume to be Christmas items. This is across
the board, on all sites and not unique to any one site. The boards on the other sites, ...
Finally... (reply)
...just sold a $12.50 book via Alibris (for B&N). It's my first sale since Oct. 22!!! Partly my fault, well, actually probably totally my fault, since
I'm hobbled up and add very few books to my inventory these days. But still, this is slower than slow. ...

Yes, as I said in the tag line, he/she should be booted out the door. It's astounding that somebody could be that stupid!
Re: USPS Shipping Assistant labels not accepted (reply)
When I take in packages with labels printed with Shipping Assistant the HAVE to scan in the delivery confirmation - that is how they charge me for it! With
pre-paid labels (like Paypal) they just toss it in the outgoing mail bin - but if I do not print ...
Re: USPS Shipping Assistant labels not accepted (reply)
I appreciate the offers to help. I would hope to correct this through the appropriate channels, and I need to consider the repercussions of any actions I take
or initiate. I would hate to have all my parcels opened for inspection or lost in the mail, ...
po (reply)
Sorry...thought they printed postage too. Why not go with Paypal...it is free. Like my friend told me..they are cutting down on services and our po won't
scan the Paypal pkgs anymore...saves them time. That way you can't follow it from beginning to end ...
